Its main function is to shield the rider, passenger, swingarm area, and underside of the motorcycle from chain grease, oil fling, and debris. It also helps prevent loose clothing, luggage straps, or other objects from contacting the moving drive chain and rear sprocket. The guard includes the original factory Tire Information decal, listing tire sizes 120/70ZR17M/C front and 160/60ZR17M/C rear, recommended Bridgestone and Michelin tire profiles, and cold inflation pressures of 250kPa front and 290kPa rear.
