This rear wheel drum brake backing plate assembly is also known as a brake hub panel or brake shoe carrier. It is designed for vintage small-displacement commuter and enduro motorcycles from the 1970s. Made from lightweight die-cast aluminum alloy, this plate supports the rear braking system. It holds the brake shoe mounting pins, return springs, and mechanical brake camshaft that pushes the shoes outward against the wheel drum. It also includes a torque anchor arm mount to help transfer braking force to the swingarm, along with a central hub channel for standard vintage axle pins.
