This is a genuine Yamaha OEM 6-speed transmission input/mainshaft assembly designed for the first-generation YZF-R1 4XV engine. Manufactured from hardened steel, it carries the fixed and sliding gears for 1st through 6th gear and transfers power from the clutch assembly to the transmission countershaft. The assembly includes the original mainshaft bearing, retaining collar, splined clutch connection, and integrated engagement dogs for smooth and secure gear operation. Fitment and Compatibility Direct Fit: Yamaha YZF-R1 1000cc — 1998–1999 Model / Engine Series: 4XV / RN01 Compatibility Note: The 2000–2001 5JJ transmission uses revised shifting components, oiling arrangements, and selected gear ratios. This assembly is not a direct replacement unless the corresponding countershaft gears and related internal components are also changed.
